Day 1: Casey Jones Village and Jackson

Visit the Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum, learning about the life, sacrifice, and legacy of the most famous railroader in the world! Climb aboard Engine 382 and ring the bell! 

Explore the Old Country Store for unique gifts and candies, and refuel with delicious Southern-Soul food from our buffet or Dixie Café! 

Take a walk through the rest of Casey Jones Village, where there's something for everyone to enjoy!

Art in the Village Gallery: home to Jackson's longest running art gallery with hundreds of pieces available. Browse through watercolor and oil paintings, photography, handmade jewelry, pottery, and more! 

The Farm at Casey Jones Village: soak up the sun and smell the flowers while playing giant yard games, searching for precious stones in our Gem Sluice, and browsing our farm and garden themed merchandise. 

Casey Jones Mini Golf: Enjoy a round of 18 hole miniature golf! 

Casey Jr. Train Ride: on certain days, climb aboard the Casey Jr. train for a fun trip around the Village! 

Grab dinner at one of the great local restaurants that Jackson has to offer!

Discovery Park of America- Union City

Morning: Depart from Jackson to Discovery Park of America in Union City, TN.

Explore the exhibits and interactive displays at Discovery Park. The water table and giant indoor slide are some of our favorites, and the is a fantastic toddler play area conveniently located on the main floor. 

 Visit the Natural History Museum, gaze up at the dinosaurs on the bottom floor, and look for the Earthquake Simulator! 

 Enjoy outdoor activities like walking the Nature Trails, the Agriculture showcase, and the Children's Discovery Garden. 

Lunch: Have lunch at the onsite cafes.

That afternoon, continue your tour in the Military Gallery, featuring tanks, planes, and all sorts of military artifacts. 

Explore the Transportation Gallery, full of beautifully restored and preserved classic cars. 

Evening: Return to Jackson for dinner and rest.

  • Morning: Depart from Jackson to Discovery Park of America in Union City, TN.
  • Activity 1: Explore the exhibits and interactive displays at Discovery Park.
  • Activity 2: Visit the Natural History Museum within the park.
  • Activity 3: Enjoy outdoor activities like the Earthquake Simulator or walking the Nature Trails.
  • Lunch: Have lunch at one of the onsite cafes.
  • Afternoon:
    • Activity 4: Visit the Military Gallery.
    • Activity 5: Explore the Transportation Gallery.
  • Evening: Return to Jackson for dinner and rest.

Day 2: Reelfoot Lake State Park

  • Morning: Drive from Jackson to Reelfoot Lake State Park.
  • Activity 1: Take a guided boat tour to explore the lake and spot wildlife.
  • Activity 2: Enjoy birdwatching from designated areas.
  • Activity 3: Rent kayaks or canoes for family paddling adventure.
  • Lunch: Have a picnic at one of the designated areas.
  • Afternoon:
    • Activity 4: Hike along one of the nature trails.
    • Activity 5: Visit the Visitor Center for exhibits and information about the park.
  • Evening: Return to Jackson, stopping for dinner on the way back.

Day 4: Shiloh National Military Park

  • Morning: Depart from Jackson to Shiloh National Military Park.
  • Activity 1: Take a self-guided tour of the battlefield.
  • Activity 2: Visit the Shiloh National Cemetery.
  • Activity 3: Attend a ranger-led program or guided tour.
  • Lunch: Enjoy a picnic in one of the designated areas within the park.
  • Afternoon:
    • Activity 4: Explore the Shiloh Visitor Center for exhibits and information.
    • Activity 5: Visit the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center (located nearby).
  • Evening: Return to Jackson, stopping for dinner on the way back.
