Casey Jones Village Boosts Infrastructure with More Electric Vehicle Stations for Community, Guests

Jackson, Tennessee — (Oct. 20, 2023) — Finding a place to charge up an electric vehicle will soon become easier now that the Casey Jones Village is expanding its Tesla Supercharger stations from 8 to 24 spaces.

Old Country Store third generation owner Brooks Shaw said the expansion will mean more local residents and travelers can charge their vehicles simultaneously. “We are excited to announce the addition of 16 new Tesla Supercharger stations in our parking lot. These Superchargers will support Tesla drivers by providing a convenient charging location, and we believe they will attract additional visitors to our property,” he said.

The first eight charging stations opened in early 2017. The additional charging stations are expected to be complete by December. The current stations average more than 1,000 charges monthly.

“This expansion will more than triple what we currently offer, and we have the space to grow,” Shaw added.

According to US Bureau of Labor Statistics, motorists are expected to continue to increase demand for EVs over the 2021–31 decade which will create greater vehicle choice, improved battery capacity and cost savings.

Open daily year-round (except for Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day), Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store includes the restaurant, Miss Anne’s Ice Cream Shoppe, Miss Juanita’s Gift Shop and the Dixie Café Takeout or Dine-In at 56 Casey Jones Lane in Jackson, Tennessee. Old Country Store will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2025.
