Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store Combats January’s Chill by Serving up Warm Hospitality

Jackson, Tennessee – (Dec. 27, 2023) – As a new year welcomes in new opportunities, Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store resolves to continue serving its community by offering family-friendly activities, uplifting entertainment and, of course, plenty of Southern comfort food in a busy January schedule.

Every Monday morning at 10:30, the Jackson Room of the Casey Jones Museum will continue to host Craft Camp for children ages 0-10. This weekly free event is always a family favorite.

Various local musicians will lend their talents, including Scott Myatt on Jan. 9, Lindsey Russell on Jan. 16, John Bickers on Jan. 23 and Justin White on Jan. 30.

Storybook Station continues to delight children on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. This free event offers a brief story time followed by a craft and a light refreshment in the Jackson Room of the Casey Jones Museum. This month’s stories include “The Great Spruce” on Jan. 3, “My Penguin Osbert” on Jan. 10, “Polar Bear Hug” on Jan. 17, “The Snow Lambs” on Jan. 24 and “One Bear Lost” on Jan. 31.

Guests should take note that Tuesday, Jan. 2, Old Country Store will be closed for employee training. But as a special treat headed into the new year, admission to the Casey Jones Museum will be free all day Wednesday, Jan. 3.
