Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store Welcomes in Spring With March Activities 

Jackson, Tennessee – (Feb. 29, 2024) – With family events centering on St. Patrick’s Day, Easter and the first signs of spring, Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store offers a March calendar that encourages the community to celebrate new beginnings. 

A weekly favorite for children and families, Craft Camp will offer even more opportunities this month for kids to express their creativity. Meeting at 10:30 a.m. in the Jackson Room of the Casey Jones Museum, the camp includes seasonal crafts and light refreshments for kids ages 0-10. This month’s crafts will have children creating paper plate lion heads Monday, March 4; cupcake liner four-leaf clovers Monday, March 11; handprint rainbows with pots of gold Tuesday, March 12; leprechaun windsocks Friday, March 15; hatching chicks Monday, March 18; Easter Bunnies Monday, March 25; and empty tombs Friday, March 29. 

Live lunch music continues to delight midday Guests every Tuesday from 12-1 p.m. in the Delta Room. This month’s musicians include Justin White March 5, Scott Myatt March 12, Lindsey Russell March 19 and Just Us March 26. 

Storybook Station is still available every Wednesday in March, taking place at 10:30 a.m. in the Jackson Room of the Casey Jones Museum. Children can enjoy hearing “Daniel Goes to the Dentist” March 6, “Peppa Pig Loves St. Patrick’s Day” March 13, “Little Blue Truck’s Springtime” March 20 and “Easter Is Coming” March 27.  

Testimonies at the Table welcomes visitors to hear personal testimonies from special guest speakers every Tuesday from 9-10 a.m. in the Delta Room of the Old Country Store.  

Keeping with tradition, live dinner music will be available every Friday evening from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Delta Room. This month will feature Michael Avery March 1, Daniel McClain March 8, Steve Patterson March 15, Justin White March 22 and Brandon Kirk March 29. 

As a treat for loyal customers, Wednesday, March 6, will offer all-day free admission to the Casey Jones Home and Railroad Museum. Additionally, Canada’s Collectibles will host a special Pokemon Trading Card Event Thursday, March 14, at 10:30 a.m. in the Jackson Room of the Casey Jones Museum.

Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store is a multi-faceted destination. Located at 56 Casey Jones Lane in Jackson, Tennessee, it encompasses the restaurant, Miss Anne’s Ice Cream Shoppe, Miss Juanita’s Gift Shop and the Dixie Café Takeout or Dine-In.
